Good to see another website dedicated to hunting and fishing...can't have enough! Where's everybody from and what all do you do outdoors?
I'm in the last so called wilderness of the lower 48 in the Upper penisula of michigan. 365 miles long by 225 wide and only 15 counties and mine is 75 miles by 35 miles wide and the least populated> We get all kinds of hunter from Wisconsin, Minnesota and downstate of Michigan. Ther is only 330,000 of us compared to the rat race below the Mackinac bridge where 8 9 million people live...Our national forest lakes total the most abondant (11,000 total) in both The U.P. and the Northwoods of Wisconsin. We got good people from all over and there's hardly anytime that two hunters meet up on the same trail...Good to be hear...Love chating with people from all states and been to most of them from one time or another and being part of this site!!

Hi Cap'n.
I'm from Minneapolis, but make it up north several times a year for fishing/hunting. Like Michigan, hunting and fishing land abounds in Minnesota, so there's always somewhere new to go.
I'm more of a fishing guy, but I do alot of shooting and an occasional duck hunting trip. I'm going to try to bag my first buck this fall. |

I too live in MN. and from a more remote part of the country. I live about 20 miles north of Duluth. I love to bear hunt with traditional muzzleloaders, as well as hooking up the the local walleye population. I just joined this sight a couple minutes ago, and look forward to checking in from time to time. If I get a chance I will post some bear photos, I have tonns!!!

Hey Everyone!
My main addiction, besides just BEING in the woods, is bow hunting.
Living in Ohio,our wildlife is nothing fancy, but challenging none the less with stick & string.
I also enjoy gun hunting with everything legal from .22 caliber, to 12 gauge.
Sadly, my participation has dwindled since the arrival of my 2 children, but hoping to resume where I left off someday!!

Hey Chuckster:
If you ever get a chance try out a traditional muzzleloader. I did about four five years ago, and that is now the only hunting weapon of any interest to me. Nothing more exciting than having a big Black Bear walking just below your feet with a one shot weapon in your hands.
I confess I did break down and bought a .44 for back up. But that was after I bumped heads with a big black while I was baiting, and unarmed.

I live about twenty miles north of Duluth, and about 15 miles inland from the Big Pond. I have lived here for about 6 years. Spent five years in the cities before that, and most of my adult life in Long Prairie MN. I have wanted to move here for the last twenty years. It took awhile, but it was worth the wait.

I'm a troll that now and then crosses the bridge to enjoy Yooperland. Member of the Hiawatha Club and hunt around Newberry. Love the UP but hate those BIG skeeters ya got up there, like it much better with a little white on the ground. |
